After spending years on the client side of the conference table, Susan Emmens realized she'd rather be the consultant and started Vox Fortis Communications. What started as freelancing on the side quickly led to the disocvery that companies were happy to find a one-stop resource for their creative and analytical online needs, chock full of personal attention. Her wide network of industry relationships has allowed her to provide clients the best service and creative results possible while staying on the cutting edge of the dot com world.
She graduated with her B.S. in Communications, then later her MBA with a concentration in e-commerce. She jumped into corporate America, absorbing everything she possibly could about writing and marketing. After a few years, she took a job in the dot com world, found her home there, and hasn't left since. What started as a copywriting career quickly took on a life of its own as she learned more about online consumer experience and marketing analysis, finding she had an aptitude for tying all of those skills together and enjoying every second of it.
She managed people ranging from creative groups to analysts, and successfully headed up multi-million dollar email efforts and online acquisition strategies in a Fortune 500 environment. Traipsing around trade show floors like E3, she discovered her love for blogging and technology, two habits she still hasn't been able to shake to this day, and got involved in forum and community building on the side. Her career spans freelance copywriting and online marketing management for one-man start-ups to management positions at places like Circuit City and Hamilton Beach Brands.
